Hand-tufted extra-firm 12.5 gauge mattress with extra wool felt padding with traditional striped cotton ticking. This mattress offers great support and comfort for medium to heavy adults, but is suitable for anyone looking for a luxurious extra-firm mattress.

Open coil is the 'standard' construction method used for good quality mattresses, and firmer examples of these are more commonly known as Orthopaedic mattresses. These mattresses contain springs of about 3 inch diameter, clipped together at top and bottom, enclosed within a metal rod framework. This unit supports your weight. Layers of padding then cover the top and bottom of the unit so the springs cannot be felt.
