Banana chairs, part of our contemporary woven furniture range, are hand made by weaving banana fibres onto a solid teak frame.

The natural fibres have all been washed, boiled, lacquered and fumigated for lifelong preservation. Woven chairs are very popular because unlike solid wood, the natural fibres are slightly flexible which allows some movement when you sit down. The texture is very different to smooth wood and brings an exotic feel into the home.
