Reclaimed wood furniture is environmentally friendly for two reasons: it reduces the need to destroy more trees for manufacturing purposes and it also reduces the amount of ‘waste’ wood that is disposed of by burning.

Wood is an incredibly durable resource and in centuries past using reclaimed wood was common practice. It made sense to recycle timber rather than to spend unnecessary time and effort in cutting down new trees. By reclaiming and recycling wood we can reduce the demand on the world’s forests yet satisfy the growing demand for eco-friendly furniture that doesn’t cost the earth.

About Our Eco-Friendly Furniture

Everyone appreciates well-made furniture in their home and work spaces. The Puji range takes wood that has outlived its original use and carefully re-uses it to create modern, contemporary pieces in a wide variety of styles.

The wood we use in our furniture has been reclaimed from old Dutch colonial buildings in Indonesia. The timber from these dismantled buildings is reused and remodelled into stylish eco-friendly furniture pieces for you to enjoy.

Recycled wood adds charm and character to your home as each eco-friendly furniture piece has a wealth of history. If you look carefully enough you may see tiny holes or nail marks in your wooden furniture which provides a fascinating glimpse into its past and means no two designs are the same.

Reclaimed teak furniture is also highly robust. This is because the timber has been well seasoned and aired, in some cases for over a century. Unlike new wood, this type of timber is unlikely to warp or crack. It also has a tighter and harder grain than new wood so it is much more durable.

We avoid the use of cardboard and plastic packaging because we prefer to wrap your order in blankets for delivery. Where unavoidable, all packaging is re-used, and then recycled. This means that we keep your waste to an absolute minimum to reduce the pressure on landfill sites and help protect our future generations.
