Here at Puji no trees are purposely felled to produce our furniture ranges. Instead we used reclaimed wood to create quality eco-friendly furniture for you to enjoy.

Puji can guarantee that our reclaimed wood hasn’t been produced at the cost of a rain forest. Reclaimed wood furniture is environmentally friendly for two reasons; it reduces the need to destroy more trees for manufacturing purposes and also reduces the amount of ‘waste’ wood that is disposed of by burning.

Wood is an incredibly durable resource and in centuries past reclaimed wood was common practice. It made sense to recycle timber rather than spend unnecessary time and effort in cutting down new trees. By reclaiming and recycling wood we can reduce the demand on the world’s forests yet satisfy the growing demand for wood furniture that doesn’t cost the earth.

Puji now carry exclusive ranges that are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. The FSC is dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. FSC runs a forest certification scheme, which enables consumers to identify products from well-managed forests. This means that you can buy with confidence – knowing that the wooden products you are buying are not contributing to global forest destruction.

FSC certified forests are managed to ensure long term timber supplies while protecting the environment and the lives of forest-dependant people. The FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. It was founded in 1993 in response to public concern about deforestation and demand for a trustworthy wood- labeling scheme. There are national working groups in 28 countries including the UK, and it is supported by NGOS including WWF, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the Woodland Trust.

Puji are proud that our exclusive ranges hold this seal. We are environmentally aware in everything we do. Our materials are sourced responsibly and our production and waste management are incredibly efficient. We avoid the use of cardboard and plastic packaging because we prefer to wrap your order in blankets for delivery. Where unavoidable, all packaging is re-used, and then recycled.
