Extendable Dining Room Tables
Extendable dining tables work extremely well in smaller dining rooms, flats or kitchen diners. They give you the greatest flexibility from your dining space allowing you to entertain additional guests when you need to. Then for the rest of the time, they fit neatly and unobtrusively into your dining space.
Extendable dining tables come in two main styles. Traditional extendable dining tables, known as drop leaf dining tables, were built with a solid centrepiece, and two leaves that could be positioned up or down. Modern styles come in rectangular or square designs and feature built in panels that extend to create extra length that can be opened as required. In both the normal and extended positions, these tables look attractive and stylish.
Puji sell two styles of extendable dining tables made from solid teak wood.

Contemporary and minimalist were the watchwords for this design. Simplistic elegance combined with natural beauty. Made from reclaimed Teak which has been hand sanded for a smoother more modern look, this piece blends well with architectural and decor styles both old and new.
Square Extending Dining Table
This practical design does exactly what it says. It extends from a square into a rectangle and in doing so, provides the perfect solution to your occasional dinner party needs, comfortably seating 2-4 people.
Constructed from 100% reclaimed Teak, it is available in a natural finish to really show off the beauty of the wood. This can also be stained or oiled to suit.
Small Dining Room Style Guide
When styling a small dining room space, try to avoid the use of strong dark colours; these will tend to close in the space making it appear smaller than it actually is. By contrast, the use of lighter colours and light coloured woods will open up the room so that it feels bigger. All of Puji's dining room furniture can be purchased in light natural teak, which is ideal in rooms where space is limited. Small dining rooms will also benefit from the clever positioning of mirrors as these reflect light and make the room appear larger as a result. Add the largest mirror you can find and if possible position it opposite a window to draw in additional light.
Large Dining Room Style Guide
When styling a larger dining room space, dark colours work well as they will help to bring the room in a little and make it feel more intimate. Ceiling heights can be visually reduced through the use of picture rails and walls can be bought in, using dado rails. Another visual height restrictor is the use of a darker colour on the walls beneath the dado rail.
Lighting can make a big difference too. Instead of lots of small lamps dotted around the room, go for larger, ornate lighting arrangements, such as elegant chandeliers. These will reduce the appearance of space by virtue of the fact that they themselves, take up so much of it.
Larger pictures on the walls or a wall covering with big, bold patterns will reduce blank wall space and the use of larger, dark wood furniture pieces such as dining tables and chairs, sideboards and occasional tables will also help to make the room that bit more cosy.
