Teak Coffee Tables

Puji offer a wide range of teak coffee tables to suit almost any type of living room. The designs are kept unfussy and uncluttered allowing the beautiful solid teak to do the talking. All coffee tables are made from premium grade solid teak and all table tops are 5cm thick giving each coffee table a robust a solid feel. Puji coffee tables cater for each room type from traditional, through to contemporary through to rustic country styles.

The wood comes from sustainable teak forests that are government controlled and regulated. Each time Puji purchase raw timber from the Governments Department of Forestation a certificate and stamp is given to Puji which guarantees its origin.

All tables are made in one of the Puji factories within Java, Indonesia, where skilled craftsmen use traditional woodworking tools and techniques to build the finished tables.

The inspiration comes from simplicity of form fused with natural, ethnic materials. The designs are unfussy and function often determines the shape. The beauty comes from displaying wood in its simplest raw form, exuding natural beauty from its grain.

Different designs

The contemporary range is simplistic in design with two 5cm solid thick legs at either end joined by a 5cm thick solid table top. The style, as with all Puji furniture can be either plain teak, or for a more contemporary feel, grain design (where there is a 90 degree angle change in the centre piece of wood used in the table top) or vein, where an aluminium strip runs down the centre of the table. The contemporary coffee range comes in either rectangular form or perfectly square.

The traditional range replicates the classic dining tables in so much as there are no traditional table top overhangs which gives it a very modern feel but the legs are tapered in the classic way to give a traditional quality to the table. As with all Puji furniture the customer may request the classic plain version or grain change or aluminium vein down the centre of the table top.

The final design from the coffee table range is the rustic country look. Using 100% reclaimed teak originally used in old colonial houses throughout Java these tables exude character and history as all the nail and screw holes are still visible on the surface of the wood. These tables are made using very thick timbers which gives them an even more robust quality.

Caring for your furniture

The tables require regular dusting with a dry cloth and require waxing and polishing about once a month to maintain their satin sheen finish. Please avoid placing hot objects directly onto the surface of the furniture.

There is an additional charge for this service as the designer has to produce exact technical drawings for any modification – the products will then take about 8-10 weeks for final UK delivery.
